Glitch After Sleeping

The Survival World we were playing was made in 1.21.93. Me and my friend usually play it, and we were now running 1.21.100. This morning, while playing, night fell. And my friend went to sleep in the game. We left the game before day could come, and I left, which made him get kicked out of the server. When I rejoined in the afternoon, I went to bed, and it turned morning. My friend later rejoined, and was stuck in his bed! He later got out, but was floating. He played The Music Disc Tears, and it then said he was sleeping, and needed one more player to sleep for dawn to skip, (Our survival world only needs one person to sleep for it to skip dawn) he couldn’t break any blocks, place any, or eat. He could hit other players.
