Description:
When playing the iOS (mobile) version of Minecraft on an iPad (iPad Air 5, iPadOS XX), connecting to an external display via Stage Manager does not allow the game to stretch to full screen. The output remains locked to a 4:3 aspect ratio, leaving large black borders on the unused areas of the display.
This issue has been present for a long time and significantly affects the gameplay experience on external monitors. I hope the development team can add full-screen support for this scenario.
Steps to Reproduce:
Use an iPad that supports Stage Manager (e.g., iPad Air 5).
Connect the iPad to an external display via USB-C to HDMI or other supported methods.
Enable Stage Manager.
Launch Minecraft (iOS / Bedrock edition).
Observe that the game remains in 4:3 aspect ratio and does not fill the entire display.
Expected Result:
The game should detect the external display resolution and allow the option to fill the screen (e.g., 16:9 or other display aspect ratios).
Actual Result:
The game is locked to the iPad’s native aspect ratio (4:3), leaving large black borders on both sides.
Environment:
Device: iPad Air 5
OS: iPadOS XX
Connection: USB-C → HDMI cable / Stage Manager enabled
I predict that this issue will occur on all iPads that support Stage Manager and with any external display.

Despite the report being mostly AI generated, it is still an issue in 26.12.
This issue can only be reproduced with iPads with M series processor.
Steps to reproduce:
Connect the iPad with M series processor to the external display, and connect the keyboard and the mouse to the USB port(s) of the hub. A USB hub with HDMI port (for connecting an external display) is enough to get the issue reproduced.
Enable Windowed mode / Stage Manager from Settings > Multitasking & Gestures
Launch Minecraft
If the game is in full screen, shrink it by pressing and holding on the edge
Hover on the green button until the pop up appears
Click “Move to display” to move the game to the external display
Click the green button in the top bar or resize to full screen
Expected result: The game should able to be resized according to the window size, like the Windows version.
Observed result: On step 4, shrinking the game keeps its aspect ratio, On step 7, black borders appear when it is in full screen on the external display, so the game in iOS actually does not support being resized
