And so the solution is to add a button in the Storage tab to clear Character Creator cache.
What I’m trying to say is that this is caused by unfinished loading of the Character Creator cache and therefore the character / skin becomes platform / multiplayer restricted until the cache finishes loading, the workaround in MCPE-236274 also works around this issue.
Still an issue as of 26.12.
However, In MCPE-236274 (includes classic skin), clearing the Character Creator cache (which mine has 68MB) works around the issue, but I may have to do it every couple years, and this workaround is not even possible on some platforms as far as I know. In order to get the issue easier to reproduce, do a try-on for Character Creator items (click on an item, but don’t make a purchase to them) to build up cache before reproducing this issue. also applies to MCPE-236099.
Despite the report being mostly AI generated, it is still an issue in 26.12.
This issue can only be reproduced with iPads with M series processor.
Steps to reproduce:
Connect the iPad with M series processor to the external display, and connect the keyboard and the mouse to the USB port(s) of the hub. A USB hub with HDMI port (for connecting an external display) is enough to get the issue reproduced.
Enable Windowed mode / Stage Manager from Settings > Multitasking & Gestures
Launch Minecraft
If the game is in full screen, shrink it by pressing and holding on the edge
Hover on the green button until the pop up appears
Click “Move to display” to move the game to the external display
Click the green button in the top bar or resize to full screen
Expected result: The game should able to be resized according to the window size, like the Windows version.
Observed result: On step 4, shrinking the game keeps its aspect ratio, On step 7, black borders appear when it is in full screen on the external display, so the game in iOS actually does not support being resized
Image proof of step 7:
In 26.10, when you activate the resource pack with platform restricted license (see also MCPE-180918), the resource pack does not load as a global resource, and it yields ”Rabbit” error when entering a world with resource pack from the Festive Mash-up activated (which is new to me), when you create a world from the Festive Mash-up, it gets reset as if it were a regular world, permanently damaging it if were the existing one.
I can reproduce the issue on my desktop PC (AMD Ryzen 3700XT, 64GB DDR4 RAM (because some of my models in CAD software require a lot of that)) Minecraft is installed on Samsung 990 Pro 1TB PCIe 4 SSD. I open the game from the Start menu and install the game via Microsoft Store by the way.
However, reinstalling the game on my desktop PC and wiping the saves, and then restoring the backup one by one (which includes worlds, self-made add-ons, and then cached Marketplace contents) solves the issue until a couple restarts.
On my Legion GO, just wiping Character Creator cache (which worth 68MB) works around the issue, even after rebooting, but building it by previewing too many item through the months may or restoring it makes the issue come back (after reboot). I will be updating the Steps to reproduce to remove mentions to Classic Skin until I caused one.
Partially fixed, only “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” left and it still gives the broken link.
Can confirm (came from MCPE-237415), Affects 26.10 using Windows to iOS, and iOS to iOS.
Steps to reproduce:
Make sure you have 2 devices with the same Microsoft Account, and has connected to the same Wi-Fi network
With Minecraft open on the first device, click Play
Open a world with multiplayer enabled
With Minecraft open on the second device, click Play
Join the LAN World hosted by the first device
Expected result: The second device should join (and third and beyond if any)
Observed result: The second device gets kicked with “An error occurred“, Blaze error (just because it was linked to the same Microsoft Account).
Workaround: Sign out of the Microsoft Account on other devices so only one of them uses it.
I had to list the values the bug resets the settings to because the parent details did not have one and I just want to make it clear. Nintendo Switch version of the game (which Switch 2 runs for now) isn’t affected.
However, either workarounds from below can be performed:
Backing up options.txt from %appdata%\Minecraft Bedrock\Users\(ID)\games\com.mojang (for release version) and restoring it once this bug occurs (close the game before restoring the settings).
Playing the game from a signed out save (by signing out in the Xbox App), It will need to be set-up again and you won’t be able to access grabbed / purchased Marketplace contents, but this workaround works for me for now.
I have encountered this bug numerous times before today. Yesterday, I prepared to test how Legion GO (Windows, which is affected by this bug) and Switch 2 behaves, without encountering this bug, but today when I started testing the devices again, I encountered this bug again which hurt the video production because this bug may skewed the battery life of my Legion GO by resetting the Graphics mode.
The following settings the bug resets mine to:
Keyboard & Mouse settings: reset to when the game was first installed, including by deleting command macros
Graphics Mode: Vibrant Visuals
In-game graphics mode switching: Off
Only Allow Trusted Skins: On
Lower Framerate When Controller Is Disconnected: On
Content Log GUI: Off / disabled
Never show “Online play not rated” disclaimer: Disabled
Also affects skins from the Super Mario Mash-up Pack.
It might depend on the device speed.
Specs for reference: Lenovo Legion GO (AMD Z1 Extreme, 16GB RAM, 7500MT/s), WD_BLACK SN770M 1TB NVMe SSD
Please also note that you must restart the PC before step 2 and avoid opening the game after that until step 9.
Can confirm for me in 26.3, and for my experience, it is easier to reproduce if you play the game under the same Microsoft Account on different devices.
Steps to reproduce (assuming you only use one device):
With Minecraft open, go to the Dressing Room
Create a new custom character on a slot
Click Emotes button (icon of a character dancing)
Observe that the emotes are equipped
Leave the Dressing Room and return to title screen
Close and restart Minecraft (a few times)
After restarting, go to the Dressing Room
Click Emotes button (icon of a character dancing)
Observe if the emotes are equipped
Expected result: The emotes (equipped) from step 4 should retain.
Observed result: The emotes are now unequipped, in gameplay, they are unavailable to be used until the player equips it back.
Sure. Still an issue as of 26.3, I was going to upload the original video but didn’t because this issue could be reproduced without video proof. But make sure the PC is rebooted before reproducing the issue, however any skin or character (including default ones) are affected. I suspect the issue stems from the Platform Restriction (or in this case Multiplayer Restriction) acting up when the skin is not fully loaded.
I’ve uploaded the proof reproduced at 26.3, with no global resources activated, shown below:
Specs for reference: Lenovo Legion GO (AMD Z1 Extreme, 16GB RAM).
Still an issue on 14, March, 2026
Can reproduce on iOS.
Update: Affects iOS.
The multiplayer toggle gets turned off autonomously when the skin is not loaded, but the skin might have been loaded while I was in the Edit World screen, so it might be why the multiplayer toggle can be turned on again on iOS.
iOS device specs for reference (since slower device may get the issue reproduced easier): iPad Air 5 (M1 chip), 256GB storage.
It being exclusive to Nintendo Switch never ever makes sense to me as a Minecraft player But even so it shouldn’t cause the game to soft lock too IMO.
That workaround I tried from above actually doesn’t work, but the next workaround can be done by:
Going to the Dressing Room by clicking “Change character / skin”
(Optional) Wait so the skin finishes loading.
Leave the Dressing Room after, there’s no need to switch slots
Basically it’s like what the reporter has done but without changing skin / character slots in step 3.
Cannot reproduce on iOS (see below) or Windows
Image above translates to “Continue game“, “Settings” (highlighted), “Marketplace“ (grayed out because the internet is cut), “Save and exit”; On the top right, it translates to “Game has been paused“, “Socials (0)”, and “Dressing Room“ under the character.
As far as I know, the Pause screen is still based of JSON UI.
Could disabling global resource / resource pack on a world solve the issue?
