Entering the Edit World screen too soon makes the game disable multiplayer for the world autonomously

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Make sure you have restarted the PC for the issue to be reproduced easily.

  2. Open Minecraft

  3. Click Play as soon as possible

  4. Click Edit on a world

  5. Click Play in the Edit World screen

Expected result: The “(World) saved” pop-up should not appear and Multiplayer should stay enabled

Observed result: If done soon enough, and the world had multiplayer enabled, The “(World) saved” pop-up appears and multiplayer for the world is disabled, which affects future sessions as the toggle is not turned back on without user interaction.

Workaround:

  1. Wait for the skin / character to load in the title screen

Note: Cannot reproduce on the Nintendo Switch as it can’t be reproduced without going through guaranteed route, and unlike every other devices I tested, the multiplayer toggle turns back on on its own after switching away on the Nintendo Switch. For those who cannot enable multiplayer on Nintendo Switch just because the skin was from the Super Mario Mash-up (or guaranteed version) after reading the article from Minecraft Help, this is not a bug for you but MCPE-189600, and because that issue requires the skin to be equipped for that to appear and is specific to Nintendo Switch, and this issue doesn’t in any way, this issue does not relate to that one. Even though both issues stem from the Platform Restriction variable.

Update: Affects iOS.

The multiplayer toggle gets turned off autonomously when the skin is not loaded, but the skin might have been loaded while I was in the Edit World screen, so it might be why the multiplayer toggle can be turned on again on iOS.

iOS device specs for reference (since slower device may get the issue reproduced easier): iPad Air 5 (M1 chip), 256GB storage.
