I’ve made a bamboo pen, the space inside is 7x7. I put a couple of sheep into it and went to put some logs in the furnace. As soon as I got back, both sheep were gone without a trace. They’ve despawned, but I haven’t the foggiest why. No drops, no EXP, nothing.

Had you ever leashed them, bred them, or tempted them with wheat? If not, they would be expected to depsawn like any other natural spawn.
