In Minecraft Bedrock Edition, if TNT is spawned and pushed by wind charges through a short tunnel facing one direction, an Immortal TNT entity can appear. This entity looks translucent/white, slightly larger than one block, and it never explodes or despawns. You cannot place blocks inside it, but you can go inside it. When inside, you cannot interact with nearby blocks (e.g. crafting tables). The entity behaves like a real mob/entity: it can be moved by water, flying machines, and even pulled with a fishing rod.
How I Discovered It:
I was experimenting with TNT and wind charges while trying to build a cannon using commands. To control the direction, I made a short tube of a few blocks. When I repeatedly summoned TNT and used wind charges to push it through, I found Immortal TNT left behind instead of normal explosions. These entities never explode, but they still have a collision hitbox you can enter. They can also appear hundreds of blocks further down in the same direction as the tube, not only inside the tube itself.
Steps to Reproduce:
Build a short straight tube of a few blocks in one direction.
Run
/summon tnt
at the start of the tube.Run
/summon wind_charge
to push the TNT forward through the tube.Repeat several times.
Occasionally, an Immortal TNT entity will appear inside the tube or hundreds of blocks further down in the same direction.
Expected Result:
TNT should explode normally or despawn without leaving any leftover entity.
Observed Result:
A translucent/white Immortal TNT entity appears.
Slightly larger than one block.
Never explodes.
Blocks cannot be placed in its space.
Players can go inside it, but then cannot interact with nearby blocks.
Behaves like an entity:
Can be moved by water or flying machines
Can be hooked/pulled with a fishing rod
Sometimes appears far away (hundreds of blocks) in the direction the tube is facing.
Version:
Any Bedrock Edition version with TNT and Wind Charge (e.g. 1.21.x).
