Armor Swapping & Interacting with Jukebox Creates Ghost Item

Upon right-clicking while holding an armor piece while a Jukebox is selected(crosshair is on top of it and it is within range of being selectable), the armor piece being held will go to the slot it’s supposed to go to, but it will appear to remain in the player’s main hand as well. The item’s texture(and name when hovered over) is still visible in both the armor slot and the slot in the hotbar where the item was being held. Upon being clicked or shift-clicked in the inventory, the Ghost Item will appear to act normally(being moved to the Mouse Pointer or moving to a different slot) for a small fraction of a second before returning to its original location in the inventory.

I have discovered 2 methods of removing the Ghost Item:

  • Right-click while holding it. No sounds are played, and the Ghost Item disappears.

  • Drop the item by hitting Q while holding it. The sound of an item being dropped is played, and the Ghost Item disappears.

It is notable that if the armor piece was swapped with another, the armor piece previously being worn will not be visible until the Ghost Item is removed, after which said item appears in the slot where the Ghost Item was.

It happens whether or not the player is already wearing armor in that slot unless that armor has Curse of Binding, in which case the Jukebox will still be interacted with but the armor piece being held will not be affected.

It happens whether the player is in Creative mode or Survival mode. In Creative mode, the bug still occurs when the player is wearing something enchanted with Curse of Binding in the same slot that the item being held would go to.

It happens whether or not there is a Music Disc in the Jukebox when the player right-clicks.

I tried recreating it by looking at other blocks that can be interacted with, such as beds, note blocks, etc. but the Jukebox seemed to be the only one that would cause this bug.

The recording shown was done in a Realm, but I also tested it in a single-player world, and the results were the same.

Lastly, I think it is important to note that no matter what I tried, this bug seems not to be usable for any means of duplication, and doesn’t permanently make items disappear.
