Husband joined my server we've been playing on and he immediately spawned at start with nothing.

My husband and i play on beta with our kids. I have the world on my Chromebook. My 2 kids joined in today and 1 of them started all over at respawn. We told him to close and reopen because that normally fixes it. But he has done it probably about 15 times and still putting him at spawn with absolutely nothing. My husband decided to join me and same thing is happening to him. A beta update dropped today so I don't know what else to do. They both have restarted their device multiple times and restarted the game more than we can count. My other kid and i decided to just not play tonight.
