The bug
The jump key (spacebar) is supposed to move you upwards while swimming. This works for the most part. But when you reach the surface, you should continue moving upwards until you leave the water’s surface and stop swimming. This doesn’t work, you remain pinned at the surface of the water and can’t emerge so long as you continue swimming.
How to reproduce
Enter a deep body of water, and go underwater
Continually hold CTRL, W, and SPACE, to swim while ascending
Keep holding them as you reach the surface of the water
Expected behavior
You should emerge from the surface, making you stop swimming and start bobbing through the water.
Observed behavior
You get stuck at the surface of the water. Only by angling your camera way upward can you emerge.
Notes
It works correctly on Java Edition. Of course, that doesn’t make this a parity issue, since by definition all bugs that are unique to Bedrock work correctly on Java Edition.
Thank you for your report!
However, this has been resolved as Invalid, as it is more of a feature request or suggestion than a bug with the game.
