Preview with the latest GDK is missing its unique window/titlebar icon.

Due to the change in the GDK version that Minecraft Preview uses as mentioned in the changelog for 1.21.120.21, the game now incorrectly uses the “Default application icon” from Windows Vista (or IDI_APPLICATION icon) for its window icon, instead of the Minecraft Preview logo.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Uninstall version 1.21.120.20 or earlier of Minecraft Preview if you have not yet received the GDK version. *

  2. Download and re-install Minecraft Preview from the Microsoft Store or Minecraft Launcher.

  3. Open the newly installed GDK version of Minecraft Preview.

  4. Observe the window icon located in the titlebar of the Minecraft Preview application.

Expected Result:

Despite the change in Minecraft Preview’s GDK version, the window icon in the titlebar is using the official Minecraft Preview logo.

Observed Result:

After the change in Minecraft Preview’s GDK version, the window icon in the titlebar is incorrectly using the “Default application icon” (from Windows Vista) rather official Minecraft Preview logo.

Notes:

This issue also affects the icon displayed in the Taskbar preview pane (which likely gains its icon from the same source file).

* You’ll know you have the updated GDK version of Minecraft Preview if the folder Minecraft Bedrock Preview is found at the path:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Minecraft Bedrock Preview

You can paste the above path into your Address/Path Bar in File Explorer. If you receive an error that Windows can’t find that folder/path, it means that you don't have the updated GDK version of Minecraft Preview, or you installed Minecraft Preview to a different drive.

Yet again, thanks to @SmokeyStack_ and other members of the community for this helpful tip!
