The v.3.19.27-2.2.2 Minecraft launcher when selecting Minecraft Preview editor mode starts the game in normal play mode.
Steps to Reproduce:
Start the Minecraft launcher, allow it to update to v.3.19.27-2.2.2 if it is not at that version.
Select Minecraft Bedrock Edition, click the Creator Tools tab and select Minecraft Preview from the dropdown menu in the lower left corner of the pane.
Click the “Launch Editor” button.
Expected Results:
The editor mode project screen should come up.
Observed Results:
The new Bedrock Preview menu screen comes up, and pressing the button to play worlds brings up standard game worlds instead of editor projects.

Thanks! You’re a lifesaver! Since the old shortcut didn’t work I didn’t know what the new resource locator string was (though now realizing looking through the default apps setting should have clued me in).
You can create a desktop shortcut using
minecraft-preview://creator/?Editor=truefor now.
