I didn't see anyone else talking about this, so I came here to report this error/bug. After installing version 1.21.120.22.0 of the beta & preview, the normal Bedrock opens normally, as does the launcher, and Bedrock continues to open directly from the Windows menu. However, after receiving this update, the beta & preview no longer opens either through the launcher or directly from the Windows menu. I tried to force stop anything related to Minecraft or Xbox through the Task Manager, but that didn't work either. I also tried to see if there was another update since this one is from 09/03/25, and it's been 2 weeks. I didn't get any other type of error, and apparently only the beta & preview were affected. Remembering that I didn't try to uninstall and reinstall because I don't want to end up losing my world.

I ran into the same issue. I thought it might have been related to multiple Windows accounts, but it seems more common.
I updated Minecraft Preview on my second Windows account first, and it ran fine after a restart. Then I tried to open it on my main account, and it updated fine and moved over all my worlds, but it keeps crashing on open just like in the video above.
This is likely due to a failed install of GameInput 2.2, and it will be fixed in the next Preview build. In the meantime, you can manually run the installer from "C:\XboxGames\Minecraft Preview for Windows[there_may_be_a_number_here]\Content\Installers\GameInputRedist.msi"

Is this issue still present on the latest Preview 1.21.120.23?
If it is, can you provide logs?
The launcher_log.txt can be found in %appdata%\.minecraft
The game’s log can be found in %appdata%\Minecraft Bedrock Preview\logs
This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply. Thanks!

Multiple users, including myself, were able to fix the crash by reinstalling the game. Your world is stored at \AppData\Roaming\Minecraft Bedrock Preview\Users, so you can create a copy of the world and store it elsewhere and then safely reinstall the game.
