Lag spikes

On the current version I downloaded the copper age update and since doing so my game has started glitching. For instance I’ll be running and stop but my character keeps going, it’s the same when I’m mining. It also freezes randomly for a second or two then acts like nothing happened. I dunno if it’s just my device or the update but I’ve had no issues previously with that while playing. I checked my settings and I didn’t see anything different but I turned my render distance down thinking that might do something but it didn’t.
