1.21.111 - On screen keyboard pops up over chat window when playing with a controller but using a keyboard to type

Since the 1.21.111 update, when I press T to bring up chat and start typing, an on screen keyboard appears, and blocks most of the chat input.

I play with a controller, but put the controller down and press T to bring up chat and start typing. Then when I'm finished typing, I normally pick you the controller and press the exit button to close chat. Since the 1.21.111 update, when I put down my controller and press T, chat opens, but ithe game doesn't recognize them I am using a keyboard and brings up an on screen electronic keyboard. The on screen keyboard does not respond to my controller at all. When I type with the keyboard, my text goes into the chat input box, but is mostly obscured by the on screen keyboard. If I stop typing and move the mouse, the game recognizes that am using the laptop and hides the on screen keyboard. The game does not recognize that I am using the keyboard to type and hide the on screen one, but the text goes into chat when I type.

My current work around is to put down my controller, press T to bring up chat, then I have to grab the mouse and move it. This seems to trigger the game out of controller mode and into mouse and keyboard mode and the on screen keyboard is hidden, and chat goes back to responding how it did prior to the 1.21.111 update, where I can exit chat by using the controller, or mouse, or keyboard.

It's playable, but annoying, as the is now an extra step of bumping the mouse to hide the key board that is covering the chat input.
