NEW Preview Massive FPS drops

Issue: When loading into a new world after downloading the latest preview, after approx. 10 seconds start getting massive frame drops that exponentially get longer and more frequent the longer I’m in the world. My first time that this happened the frame drop persisted into the menu’s after leaving the world. When I tried re-opening Minecraft preview, it would not open, giving me the error in launcher you see attached.

I did try a reinstall of the game, this did allow me to open preview again, but the issue persisted when I went into a world, the same as before. This time when exiting, the lag did go away at menu, and when exiting the game, I was able to get back in.

Went back into game a 3rd time now. Lag is gone.

To help us understand and reproduce the issue, could you please include details about your device and system (RAM, CPU, GPU spec)?

If you’d like you can also run dxdiag and copy the relevant information from there. (Win+R → dxdiag) - be sure to remove any personal information, just the PC specs would be useful.

Do you also have the “Improved Input Response” option enabled in Settings > Video? This option causes a memory leak and significant FPS drops as a result (see MCPE-179496 )

AMD 5800x Processor

Nvidia EVGA 3080 Graphics Card

64 GB 3600mhz Ram

Could you please also answer the second question?

This happens to me too, the fps can drop to 5 or 1 too often for no reason even in flat worlds, for some reason for me it is solved by opening the game from the launcher instead of opening it directly.

I have the same issue. But I noticed that Minecraft doesn't use my GPU at all, while using an extremely large amount of RAM. While in the world, the RAM consumption increases and increases along with the amount of lag.

Nitor004, you are experiencing MCPE-179496.

Prowl8413, please confirm whether you had the "Improved Input Response" option enabled.

OcelotOnesie, thanks very much. Before that, I also did a clean reinstallation of the Nvidia drivers and that also helped.
