Squid tentacle animations, Ravager head up-and-down movement, Player head up-and-down movement, item-holding animations for some specific items (like arrows), and the new spear rotation (or falling?) animation—those are a few animated features in the game that always appear jittery. This affects all frame rates but becomes more and more visible the higher the frame rate is. I play at 144 FPS and it’s very noticeable. At 60 FPS it’s slightly visible, but only if you really want to see it. This bug mostly affects players who play at high frame rates. Higher frame rates means everything above 60.
Reproduce:
Make sure that you’re playing on a high frame rate, like 120, and that your monitor is able to run at 120 FPS. Spawn a Ravager and capture it in a minecart. Wait until the Ravager looks at you. If it does, fly up and down so its head follows your movement. You will see that the up-and-down movement is jittery.
You can also spawn a squid and observe its tentacles; it’s easier.
Expected:
All animations play smoothly.
Observed:
Some seemingly random animations always play jittery, which always breaks the vibe and sometimes even gets annoying.
Related:
There are a few reports describing one specific thing that jitters, but since all of those animations break in the same way, I’m sure there is one big main reason for that—one singular cause.
There are also bugs like
MCPE-217876
MCPE-177693
…but those appear periodically—sometimes weaker, rarely unplayably strong—while the jitter described here is ALWAYS there and does NOT change in any way.
