Game lags and freezes in both Survival and Creative — controls stop working

When I play Minecraft on my Redmi 13C, the game starts lagging and then freezes completely. It happens in both Survival and Creative modes.

When it freezes, I can’t move or use any controls, and the game stops responding.

My phone is a high-end device, so it should handle Minecraft easily.
