All minecraft worlds deleted

All my minecraft worlds were deleted today after the new update. I needed to update the game to play with some friends but the update button wouldn’t come up so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game (Which I have done many times before with no problems) and the game did update, but, when I got back on every single world was gone and all my settings were reset but I still have all my skins that I made. I have been playing this game for many years and have nearly 2000 hours, I am willing to try everything to get my worlds back.
