Following the transition from UWP to GDK architecture in Bedrock Edition, Chinese-English bilingual input methods (e.g., Microsoft Pinyin) no longer function correctly during gameplay. In the UWP version, players could seamlessly use WASD for movement while the input method remained in English mode, and pressing Shift only toggled English/Chinese mode in chat. However, in the GDK version:
Movement keys (WASD) fail to respond when the input method is in Chinese mode.
Pressing Shift simultaneously triggers sneaking (game mechanic) and forcibly switches the input mode, causing conflicts and operational disruptions.
How to Reproduce:
Set the system input method to Chinese-English bilingual (e.g., Microsoft Pinyin).
Launch Bedrock Edition (GDK version) and enter a world.
Attempt to move using WASD with the input method in Chinese mode—movement fails.
Hold Shift to sneak—observe that the input mode unexpectedly switches to English, interfering with both movement and chat.
Observed Result:
Movement commands are ignored when the input method is active in Chinese mode.
Shift key activates sneaking while simultaneously toggling input mode, leading to inconsistent behavior and disrupted gameplay.
Expected Result:
Movement keys (WASD) should work regardless of input mode, as in the UWP version.
Shift key should solely control sneaking during gameplay without altering the input method state.
Input mode switching should only occur explicitly in chat interfaces, preserving seamless gameplay integration.
