Issue:
In Minecraft for Windows (GDK / Bedrock 1.21.120), all in-game keyboard input is unresponsive. Only system-level keys (Windows key, F1-F12, Ctrl, Alt) work. Keys for movement (W/A/S/D), jumping, inventory, and other actions cannot be used. Attempting to reassign keys in the settings has no effect, as input fields do not respond. The mouse still works normally.
Steps to reproduce:
Launch Minecraft for Windows (GDK / Bedrock 1.21.120 or Preview version)
Observe that keyboard input is unresponsive for all in-game keys, but mouse works
Click "Play" and load a world
Observed behavior:
In-game keyboard input does not work
Mouse input works normally
Input settings cannot be changed
Issue persists after reinstalling Minecraft and Gaming Services
Issue occurs regardless of controller connection or Overlay software
Expected behavior:
All keyboard inputs should work correctly
Mouse input should continue working normally
Settings should allow key reassignment

Does the issue also occur when using your laptop’s keyboard and when the external keyboard is disconnected?
Could you try the following and see if it fixes the issue?
Open File Explorer
Navigate to
C:\XboxGames\Minecraft for Windows\Content\InstallersRun
GameInputRedist.msi
If that doesn’t work, try running the Gaming Services Repair Tool:

Also happens on Xbox, when I just want to type with a physical keyboard in any GDK versions, not only Xbox and PC. (It shouldn’t make a virtual keyboard come up, unless you click with A, or X, or even touch it with touch controls. With not limited to only type when and only when you click, or press enter on the textbox. It has spreaded from just Xbox to PC too now.
