Lag making the game unplayable

Ever since the new update, my game has been unplayable with lag. I have render distance and frame rates all the way up, and fancy graphics, but it has never been an issue before now. I have attempted to go back to regular graphics, render distance all the way down, and frame rate to the recommended number, but it does not help. I have even turned off vsync as I have come to know it to cause issues in my games. Nothing is working.
