Can't enter commands without pressing Enter first when using controller and keyboard

The game acts weird now when using a controller and keyboard/mouse. Say, your playing with the controller, then want to type in chat or do a command. When you press “/” you cannot continue to type. You have to then press “Enter”, then you can start typing. Old behavior is, when you press “/”, you can continue typing as normal without having to press “Enter”. Also, in Windows 11, if the last input was from the controler and not the mouse, the keyboard is not recognized and the on-screen keyboard pops up. Minecraft is pretty much unusable with that on-screen keyboard in the way all the time.
