i can recover from this bug, usually by hitting escape on the keyboard and clicking resume on the menu that pops up. sometimes when a windows menu appears in the game and takes precidence, i can slide to the right and it disappears. usually the esc/resume route is required. i see that this bug report will not allow me to enter my mincraft version (1.21.121) so i selected the mess that was offered.
