MCPE-230832

Mouse cursor moves in the background during gameplay, disrupting gameplay

Summary:
In the 1.21.30.26 Preview and 1.21.121 Hotfix, the mouse cursor no longer locks itself in place during gameplay. As a result, it can move in the background and interact with elements such as the taskbar, system notifications, windows set to “Always on top”, and additional monitors, disrupting gameplay.

This issue was likely introduced by an improper fix to MCPE-229549.

In the 1.21.122 Hotfix, Method 1 has been partially fixed. However, Method 2 and Method 3 remain unchanged.

Steps to Reproduce:

Method 1 – Taskbar Interaction (1.21.122 Hotfix)

  1. Open a world in Fullscreen mode.

  2. Open and close a user interface.

  3. Press F11 to switch to Windowed mode.

  4. Look down.

Method 2 – Notification Interaction

  1. Open a world.

  2. Trigger a system or app notification.

  3. Turn the camera toward the area where the notification appears.

Method 3 – “Always on Top” Window Interaction

  1. Open a world.

  2. Open the Pause Menu.

  3. Press F11 to switch to Windowed mode.

  4. Right-click the taskbar and open Task Manager.

  5. In Task Manager, go to Settings > Window management and enable Always on top.

  6. Refocus Minecraft by clicking its icon on the taskbar.

  7. Press Esc to resume the game.

  8. Turn the camera toward the location of the Task Manager window.

Observed Results:
The mouse cursor moves in the background and appears over the taskbar, notifications, and Task Manager window, and these elements can be interacted with during gameplay, interrupting the experience.

Expected Results:
The mouse cursor should remain locked in place during gameplay and not appear on or interact with elements such as the taskbar, notifications, or other windows—consistent with the UWP version.

This also happens in the full release with the latest hotfix (1.21.121)

when in fullscreen mode it apparently moves way faster than normal to reach the other side and leave the window from the two sides, i went into a bedwars game to see if anyone else had the issue but nobody else did. i even died a couple times because i couldnt stop clicking off the game

I’m having this issue too. Sometimes when I try to place a block, my mouse ends up clicking on my second monitor, pausing the game.

I’ve also found that in fullscreen it only happens if you have a second monitor in extended display mode. The temporary solution I’ve implemented until it’s fixed that seems to work so far is unplugging the second monitor.

Having this issue as of updating to 1.21.121 last night. Looking too far in any direction causes the cursor to escape the window and allows me to click on other monitors. Cursor itself is invisible during this but evidence of its existence like hover menus shows up. Happens whether the game is in full screen or not.

This makes the game literally impossible to play

Can we have the report updated to include 1.21.123?

Happened to me too

instead of leaving the screen and interacting with different windows the game now updates to where the cursor is suddenly and unpredictably

the 1.21.1234 hotfix locks it but it still happens light slight movement moves the camera

I’m using the 1.21.12402.0 version and I still have this issue! Not Fixed!! @Mojang
