Like MC-108045, the Unifont version for Bedrock Edition is still stuck at v5.1, only supporting characters within the Basic Multilingual Plane. This resulted in a large number of characters being unable to display in the game, especially CJK characters.
v5.1 is the Unifont version from 2008, which lacks a large number of characters supported in later versions. These missing characters in Unifont v5.1 are displayed as “tofu”, which means a character is not present in a font and no fallback option is available. Unifont should be updated to provide more comprehensive multilingual support.
