When I get too close to wolves I’ve tamed, they disappear, but their collars and wolf armor (if they have it) remain. That doesn’t seem right. On the other hand, the one world I’ve observed it on does have quite a few add-ons, so it may just be a bug with the add-on and not with Minecraft.
Steps to Reproduce:
Enable mob dithering in Settings > Accessibility
Enable one of the resource packs listed below
Spawn and tame a wolf, and stand very close to it
Observed Results:
The wolf’s model completely disappears.
Expected Results:
The wolf’s model should become dithered.
Affected Packs:
Classic Texture Pack
Plastic Texture Pack
Natural Texture Pack
Steampunk Texture Pack
Fantasy Texture Pack
Cartoon Texture Pack
Candy Texture Pack
Festive Mash-Up
Vault-Tec Mash-Up
Dragonborn Mash-Up

Duplicating the world I observed the issue on and getting rid of all behavior packs on that world but leaving “Minecraft Classic Texture Pack”, the only resource pack enabled that wasn’t tied to an add-on, it may just be an issue with that resource pack. They still disappeared when I got too close with that resource pack still enabled, but they stopped doing so when I disabled it too. Is it still a bug that warrants being fixed?
Yes. I have found that the bug affects more than just the Classic Texture Pack and have updated the report.
As a workaround, you can disable the mob dithering option in Settings > Accessibility.
