Summary:
When playing Minecraft with a shared Xbox Game Pass subscription, multiplayer features are not accessible. The game displays the following message:
You cannot play with friends or on LAN worlds because multiplayer is disabled.
Fix now
Pressing the 'Fix now' button prompts the user to purchase Xbox Game Pass. This is not the expected behavior, as a shared Game Pass subscription should allow multiplayer access according to Microsoft’s support article. Other games correctly support this functionality when using a shared subscription.
Steps to Reproduce:
Have two Xbox consoles (Xbox 1 and Xbox 2).
On Xbox 2, sign in using Xbox 1’s account and set Xbox 1 as Xbox 2’s home console.
On Xbox 2, sign in with a separate account that does not have Xbox Game Pass.
Launch Minecraft and attempt to access multiplayer.
Observed Results:
Multiplayer access is blocked and the user is prompted to purchase Xbox Game Pass.
Expected Results:
Multiplayer should be available when using a shared Xbox Game Pass subscription.
Notes:
See Microsoft’s support article on sharing subscriptions: Share your Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass subscription
