UI elements, in-game controls, and hotbar are incorrectly small and ignore GUI Scale settings

Observed Result:

All UI elements in the game are rendered much smaller than normal. This includes the main menu buttons, the hotbar, the health/hunger bars, the in-game touch controls (D-pad and buttons), and all settings menus.

Expected Result:

The UI elements and controls should be rendered at their default, larger size, and should be scalable using the in-game GUI Scale Modifier.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch Minecraft on the affected device (Samsung Galaxy A31 running Android 12).

  2. Observe the main menu; all buttons ("Play," "Settings," etc.) are smaller than usual.

  3. Load into any world.

  4. Observe the in-game UI: the hotbar, D-pad, and jump/crouch buttons are all incorrectly small.

Troubleshooting Already Attempted:

  • Changing the "GUI Scale Modifier" in Video settings has no effect or does not fix the issue.

  • Changing the "UI Profile" from Pocket to Classic (and back) does not fix the issue.

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the game does not fix the issue. The UI is still small on a fresh install.
