I am writing to express my strong concern regarding the "near-player rendering fade" (dithering effect) in Minecraft Bedrock Edition. I am a player who deeply loves and respects the creatures of Minecraft, but the current rendering logic creates an unnecessary barrier between players and the animals they care for.
I urge the Mojang development team to consider the following points:
I believe the original intent of fading out mobs when close to them was to prevent camera clipping, but it disregards the feelings of many players. I care deeply about the animals in this game—especially the smaller, more vulnerable ones. Why must they become "ghost-like" and invisible the moment I try to get close to them? This forced fading destroys the sense of companionship and the joy of being near the creatures we love.
This is not just an aesthetic preference; it is a serious functional issue. For large-scale creatures with expansive hitboxes (such as Sniffers and Camels), the rendering fade causes them to become completely invisible even when the player is still a distance away. This makes it nearly impossible to lead, feed, or interact with them effectively. It is a severe immersion-breaker and a mechanical flaw that hinders gameplay.
Not everyone likes forced rendering fades! While the intent may be "good," it should respect the diverse preferences of the player base. A feature that renders a creature invisible during the most intimate moments of interaction is counter-intuitive.
Proposed Solution: Please add a toggle in the Video Settings to enable or disable "Proximity Entity Fading." Minecraft is a game about your connection to the world. We should have the right to look our animals in the eye without them vanishing. Please give us the option to choose the visual experience that works best for us.
