Minecraft Issue on IOS - IPad

Hello, I am having an issue on my sons Ipad. He is trying to play Minecraft and in order for him to click on anything he has to double click the action. I have already reset any settings on the physical tablet itself. But i can not get into the settings on the minecraft app, to see if something that has been turned on is causing this. If someone could help me potentially figure out how i can get into the settings? It wont let me scroll to the bottom or anything. Thank you!
