Pistons only visually redirect redstone. They will get powered, and look like they are redirecting the redstone, but the redstone line will still power the blocks around it as if it wasn't redirected to begin with.
The attached image shows this very well. There are no updating problems with the redstone (as this doesnt exists in bedrock), it is simply falsely redirected.
I know you guys have a history of making ‘bug fixes’ against the community cough copper bulb cough so please just make it so the piston properly redirects the dust and the redstone doesn't actually power what's around it
