[MCPE-236209] Nether portals are broken

Periodically, when standing in portal blocks, the screen stays normal and you are not able to enter the nether.

To reproduce, travel between two locations in the overworld (a few hundred blocks apart) by entering a nether portal in one location and entering the corresponding portal in the nether in survival mode.

Expected result: every time you enter a portal the screen turns purple and swirly and you are transported to the nether.

Actual result: About a quarter of the time when you enter a portal block in either dimension, the screen stays the same and the portal blocks go invisible and you can’t travel between dimensions.

Wait I have this issue on iOS bedrock. Is it due to the parrot on shoulder???

Yes, parrots prevent you from using Nether portals and End portals. We are tracking this issue at MCPE-27950, so I will close this report as a duplicate.
