Minecraft 1.26.1 crashes when sleeping on Android 8.1 (Oppo A5s)

I am experiencing consistent crashes on Minecraft version 1.26.1 on my Oppo A5s device.

Issue details:

The game crashes every time I try to sleep in a bed. This happens even in newly created worlds. I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

Uninstalled and reinstalled the game

Cleared app data

Lowered all video settings to minimum

Reduced render distance to the lowest setting

Disabled battery optimization and background restrictions

Tested in a brand new world

Despite these steps, the game still crashes specifically when attempting to sleep in a bed. Other gameplay actions seem normal.
