Summary:
When the Screen Animations option is disabled while the player is inside a world, the HUD fails to load after returning to gameplay and a loading bar appears instead. Inventory and block GUIs remain accessible, but the Pause menu may fail to open, which can soft-lock the game.
If the Pause menu does open successfully, exiting the world and reopening it allows the HUD to load normally again.
This issue only occurs in the Preview version and does not occur in the Stable release.
Steps to Reproduce:
Launch Minecraft Preview.
Navigate to Settings > Video and enable Screen Animations if it is not already enabled.
Open a world.
Open the Pause menu.
Navigate to Settings > Video and disable Screen Animations.
Return to the game.
Observed Results:
The HUD (hotbar, coordinates, etc.) fails to load and a loading bar appears instead. In some cases, the Pause menu cannot be opened, soft-locking the game.
Expected Results:
The HUD should load normally after disabling Screen Animations.
