Problems displaying me online.

My friends don't see me on their friend lists. We were planning to play on a local server using Xbox accounts. But I'm nowhere to be seen, whether in the Minecraft menu or in the world. My friends also can't see my invitations. However, I can log into their world, and I can see them. I couldn't log in with VPN either, I'm not visible. Is this possible because of my place of residence (Ukraine)?
