Cape and Skin Not Displaying in Dressing Room and Worlds

Hello,

I am experiencing a recurring issue in Minecraft Bedrock Edition (Windows/PC version) regarding skins and capes.

[Problem]

  • Capes do not appear on characters in the dressing room or in worlds.

  • Custom skins sometimes fail to load, showing the error "Local skin or platform skin could not be loaded."

  • All skins appear as default Steve.

  • This has happened multiple times in the past.

[Environment]

  • Occurs on all versions.

  • Launching via both OderSo Launcher and official Minecraft Launcher.

  • Microsoft/Xbox account used.

[Additional Information]

  • I changed PCs and initially the problem seemed fixed, but after about 3 weeks it occurred again.

  • I have tried the following fixes:

    • Repair and Reset

    • Cache deletion

    • Confirming "Use Custom DLL" OFF

    • Launching from official launcher

  • My worlds and custom skin PNG files are intact, only the appearance in-game is affected.

Please investigate and provide a fix as this issue persists over time and affects
