In my survival world I have this little cliff thing that is faster to jump off, so I do that. I put slime blocks in the area I land. The slime blocks aren’t placed on a flat surface, you can see in the image. I always crouch if that helps, but when I land, not every time, but sometimes, I take damage. It seems to happen when I land on the edge of the block. I 100% know I’m landing on the slime block.
to recreate this: set up slime blocks as shown in the image. Jump onto them and crouch, try to land near the edge.

sorry, but my computer won’t let me screen record, it works in a flat world, I wasn’t using any add on/resource/texture packs or anything. It worked on a complete survival world that I generated, really, you just gotta try recreating it cause I can’t show a video…
I can reproduce this by making a slime staircase about 10 blocks high and sprint-jumping down it. Sometimes I take fall damage when I land on the edge of a slime block. As the reporter states, it does note happen every time. It happens about once very 5-10 times that I try.
