My nether portal disappeared after hitting a sulfur cube through it.

I'm really not sure what happened here, and I'm not sure how to reproduce, maybe just do what I did in the video, but my nether portal just wasn't there when I went through, I see that the sulfur cube kept its momentum, but the portal was nowhere to be found.
