Items in inventory don't display text when using mouse and gamepad

On my PC, I use a mouse, but use a gamepad in my other hand. I have been doing this for many years in Minecraft and it works great.
Thank you for this - there are not many games that readily allow this combination.

However since the latest previews 26.20.20+ and now 26.30.20, I have a problem when using the Inventory.

If I press ‘E' on the keyboard and then drag the mouse pointer over the inventory, then the labels appear correctly (as expected).
Likewise, if I press ‘X’ or 'Y’ on the gamepad and then use the thumbstick, the labels appear (as expected).

But, I typically press 'Y' on the gamepad and then use the mouse. This method does not show the labels.
Although, if I nudge the gamepad thumbstick, then the labels appear.

Up to the latest release, 26.13, this problem does not occur.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Using Minecraft for Windows, connect both a mouse and a gamepad.

  2. In a game, press 'Y' on the gamepad to open the inventory.

  3. Use the mouse and hover over items - the labels do not appear.

  4. Nudge left thumbstick on the gamepad to move the crosshair over one inventory item - the label appears.

  5. Now use the mouse again - the labels are appearing correctly.
