Boat keeps rising upward indefinitely after dismounting onto a bed

Brief description of the problem:
In Bedrock Edition, when a player drives a boat onto a bed and dismounts, the boat does not stay on the ground. Instead, it starts rising into the air and keeps going upward forever.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Place a bed on a flat surface.

  2. Get into a boat and drive it directly onto the bed.

  3. Dismount from the boat.

  4. Observe the boat after dismounting.

Expected result:
The boat should remain stationary on the bed after the player dismounts, just like it does on normal solid blocks (e.g., dirt, stone, wood).

Actual result:
The boat begins floating upward by itself and continues rising indefinitely until it hits a ceiling, unloads, or goes out of render distance.

I discovered that the same bug affects slime blocks as well, and that it is client side only (anyone else in the world and the server see the boat on the ground), and attempting to stand on it or ride it fail and/or teleport the boat back to where it is server-side.

No, my testing was done in singleplayer (although the world was open to multiplayer, as is the default in Bedrock Edition). The reason I am referring to client/server is that there is still a distinction between the two, even in singleplayer (which is why it is possible to create ghost blocks (client side only) in singleplayer) (crouching on a bed, then placing water, is an easy method).

Regarding MCPE-238546:

I have tested this issue in single-player as well, and the same problem occurs. It is not limited to multiplayer.

Hi!
Thank you for your report!

However, this issue has been temporarily closed as Awaiting Response.

  • Is this still an issue on the latest version of the game?

  • Does the boat need to be facing a specific angle?

  • Can you provide a world where this issue is present? This issue could not be reproduced and there might be something missing in the setup.

This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply. Thanks!
