Hello , this bug has been happening to me since last year after the 1.21.100 update has been released and before that i have never encountered anything like this bug , The bug happens when a player presses tab constantly when dying , theres a 40% to a 80% for this player to crash after he dies , At first i thought it was a server bug from cubecraft but it started happening on survival and realms even other server etc , This bug needs to be fixed because some people use tab as a main keybind , I have it for sprint so i keep crashing alot and the game just becomes unplayable for me

Steps to Reproduce:
Switch to Survival mode
Open the chat and type /kill
Immediately after sending the command, press the Tab key repeatedly

I can confirm this issue.
I had been experiencing what appeared to be random freezes when dying for several months, but I never knew the cause until I found this report. I have Sprint remapped from Ctrl to Tab, so I was frequently pressing Tab during gameplay.
After seeing this report, I followed the reproduction steps and was able to reproduce the freeze/crash on my system.
Additional information:
Reproduced on version v26.31.
Experienced on multiple PCs (both a desktop and a laptop).
I can confirm this has been occurring since at least January 10, 2026, though I believe it may have started even earlier.
This issue appears to explain the seemingly random death-related freezes I had been experiencing.
