Nonsensical piston-entity interactions in 26.30

As a result of the composter parity fix, entities being pushed by pistons do not respond as expected in many common situations. One example is attached to this report, where a block pushing an entity down results in the entity going up.

I can note some similar issues, and was planning to report them independently, namely that if you create a c shape with three slime blocks in a column, as in the screenshot below, and pushing up, results in the minecart going through the block instead. I think the reason is that when an entity is pushed, it is instantly teleported to the final location, but with the recent update (which has changed pistons such that entities won’t be pushed forward if there is a block hitbox in the way), not only breaking most of my piston translocation elevators, it also results in the minecart failing to move as there is a block hitbox (of the top block) in the way. Optimally, this would be fixed by changing piston pushing to be a smooth motion instead of teleporting, but coding that may be hard.

The video shown (unable to upload it) also exposes that this is also directional, exposing a directional order in the creation of moving blocks.

In addition, pistons (and seemingly only pistons) seem to have their hitboxes mostly ignored by the system to detect hotboxes in the way, creating strange disparities, as shown below where pistons make the c shape work correctly, while it doesn’t work with normal blocks
