The bug
Silverfish spawned from the infested effect are supposed to spawn in the center of an entity’s hitbox. This works correctly for most mobs, but for the player, the silverfish are spawned above its head.
How to reproduce
Use a splash potion of infestation on yourself
Go into third person mode (F5)
Stand on a few magma blocks
Expected result
Silverfish should emerge from your center
Observed result
They appear above your head
