Summary:
The game crashes to the desktop when switching between Vibrant Visuals and Fancy graphics and then immediately exiting a world. The crash generally appears to occur when the render distance is set to high values.
This issue was reproduced on a desktop with an Intel Core i5-14600K, AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT (16 GB), and 32 GB of RAM.
Steps to Reproduce:
Launch Minecraft.
Navigate to Settings > Video.
Set the Fancy graphics and Vibrant Visuals Render Distance to the recommended value or higher. In my case, this is 50 chunks for Fancy graphics and 24 chunks for Vibrant Visuals.
Create a new world and allow the surrounding chunks to load.
Open Settings > Video and switch Graphics Mode from Fancy to Vibrant Visuals.
Immediately exit the world.
Observe the game as it returns to the Worlds menu.
Observed Results:
The game crashes to the desktop while loading back to the Worlds menu.
Expected Results:
The game should return to the Worlds menu without crashing.
