Entities do not avoid void when pathfinding

Entities find the void to be a valid surface to walk on, causing them to walk off ledges they normally would not with air. The attachment below shows an example scenario with Husks, but this affects all grounded entities.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Load a flat world for testing convienience.

  • Spawn a gravity-affected mob on a platform. The platform should be within 3 blocks of the minimum build height limit.

  • Have the mob pathfind over an uncrossable gap.

Expected result:

The mob should avoid/stop before the gap ledge to prevent falling into the void.

Actual result:

  • The mob will attempt to walk over the gap.

I first noticed this happening with sulfur cubes. I haven’t really seen it with zombies or husks, but the cubes like bouncing into the void when I spawn them.
