If an enderman is holding an end portal block, its arms will be extended in front of itself as though it were holding a block, but nothing at all will be displayed between them. This is strange because you would absolutely expect something to render there. You can tell it’s holding an end portal block since it eventually will place it down in the world if you wait for long enough.
This issue affected Java Edition as MC-195237, but was fixed earlier this year, making this a parity issue.
To reproduce:
download and enter the attached world
observe the enderman
Expected results: it’s holding an end portal, so you would see it holding an end portal.
Actual results: it’s holding an end portal, but you see it holding absolutely nothing for some reason.
How to fix: endermen holding end portals should display that end portal being held, rather than displaying nothing.
