My custom skin is not saving

I downloaded a skin from Skindex. When I log in, go to dresser and select this skin it loads and works. I can then play the game. After I shut down the game and return, my character is one of the default ones. My saved characters don’t appear either, if I save skins to a couple of characters. The game tells me a skin has failed to load. This happens every single time without fail. I have to choose my skin again from files if I want to wear it.
