Since 26.40, if you have custom skins imported to your game, and then restart the game, the skin will fail to load and reverted to one of the default Minecraft skin, and "A local or platform skin could not be loaded." notifications popup appear upon opening the dressing room.
Steps to reproduce:
Download the skins attached in the report, or download any random skins from 3rd party sites such as MCPEDL, Planet Minecraft, or NameMC
Import it to the game, and then restart the game
Open the game again, and wait until the game fully loaded
Notice the paper doll in the main menu does not display your previously imported custom skins, and "A local or platform skin could not be loaded." notifications popup appear upon opening dressing room
Expected result:
Previously imported custom skins load perfectly fine.
Observed result:
Previously imported custom skins fail to load.
Note:
Upon checking the custom_skins folder located in "\<user_id>\games\com.mojang\custom_skins", which can be accessed from:
Minecraft: %AppData%\Minecraft Bedrock\Users
Minecraft Preview: %AppData%\Minecraft Bedrock Preview\Users
For some reason the game cleared custom_skins folder every time the game is launched/restarted (you can see this happening in the attached video), which causes the skin fail to load, since the reference file for the skin no longer exist.
