*26.50.24 preview
Fixed in 26.50.40 preview, locator and explorer maps are once again shows the direction the player is facing outside of the map region.
It probably is, but the problem is they never documented it in the changelog.
Either way, this was changed on Java Edition in the latest snapshot (26.3 Snapshot 7), the player arrow will now always show the direction the player is facing (similar to how it works previously on Bedrock), the only difference is it's use the small version of the player marker instead of using the regular one.

After some testing, the lightning actually does became purple tinted, but only for entities below Y 0 (and possibly for blocks as well, but there's no way to test that since the minimum build height in The End dimension is Y 0).
If the entities move to Y 0 or higher when the end flashes still happen, the lightning for that entities will abruptly changes.
This can be fixed by replacing "v.walking" inside copper_golem.entity.json files from this:"v.walking = query.modified_move_speed > 0.01;"
To this:"v.walking = 1.0 - math.pow(1.5, 1.0 - 015.0 * query.modified_move_speed);"
I've also attached a modified copper_golem.entity.json files that already included this fix.
Still a bug in my eyes, since the screen where Mojang Studios splash screen used to show literally shows as a blank white screen now, and that happens after GDK transition.
Additionally, all the GDK game that you shows display their game key art as the initial game launcher cover, which is not the case for Minecraft Bedrock.
