I have found 6 abandoned camps in the world. All 6 have the same issue. When you first click on any chest at the site, it will open and not have any inventory. You can then close the chest. After this, for the next 1 - 2 minutes, the only action that will work is attack/mine; however, any action taken during this time will be reset, and you will teleport back to the chest, and all actions will be reversed. For example, one location had cobwebs. I cut them all down, but I could not collect them. After that time frame, all of the cobwebs respawned back in place. I have noticed that the save icon is active in the top right-hand corner. Once the 1-2 minute time period has passed, the chests will then have generated their loot, and the abandoned camp will act completely normal. It appears to be some type of bug or slowdown preventing the proper generation of the loot in the chests.
This is reproducible at every abandoned camp.
I have been playing the same survival world for many years, predating at least Minecraft 1.17. I’m not sure if this is relevant to the issue. I have not attempted starting a new world, as I have logged nearly a thousand hours in this world.
